AfterTrade ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our trading analysis platform.
By using AfterTrade, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
- Email address - Used for account creation, authentication, and communication
- Password - Stored as a salted hash using bcrypt (we never store plain-text passwords)
- Account creation date - Timestamp of when you created your account
Kalshi API Credentials
- API Key ID - Your Kalshi public API key identifier
- Private Key - Your Kalshi private RSA key, encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption
- Last import timestamp - When you last imported trade data from Kalshi
Security: Your Kalshi private key is encrypted using industry-standard AES-256 encryption before being stored in our database. We never transmit or share your private key with any third party except Kalshi's official API.
Trading History Data
- Trade records - Market tickers, entry/exit prices, position sizes, timestamps, P&L
- Market metadata - Market names, event tickers, resolution outcomes
- Execution metrics - Fill counts, spreads, hold durations
This data is imported directly from Kalshi's API using your credentials. We only import data necessary for generating trading analysis.
AI Analysis Results
- Generated analyses - AI-powered trading performance reviews
- Analysis metadata - Model version, prompt version, trade count, timestamp
- Analysis type - Comprehensive or incremental review
Technical & Usage Data
- Session tokens - JWT tokens for authentication (stored in browser localStorage)
- Page views - Anonymous analytics via Plausible Analytics (privacy-focused, no personal data)
- Error logs - Application errors for debugging (no personal data included)
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide trading analysis - Generate AI-powered performance reviews using your trade history
- Import trade data - Connect to Kalshi's API to retrieve your trading history
- Account management - Authenticate users, manage accounts, and provide support
- Improve our service - Analyze usage patterns to improve features and fix bugs
- Communication - Send important service updates, security alerts, or respond to inquiries
We will NEVER:
- Sell your personal data to third parties
- Use your trade data for our own trading
- Share your trading history with anyone without your explicit consent
- Send marketing emails (unless you opt in)
3. Data Storage & Security
Database: All data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Render.com with automatic encrypted backups.
Encryption: Sensitive credentials (Kalshi private keys) are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption with unique encryption keys per user.
Transmission: All data transmitted between your browser and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.
Access Control: Only authorized personnel have access to production systems, and access is logged and monitored.
Password Security: Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with per-user salts and never stored in plain text.
Beta Disclaimer: AfterTrade is currently in beta. While we implement industry-standard security practices, the service is provided "as-is" during this testing phase. Use at your own risk.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate AfterTrade:
OpenAI API
Purpose: Generate AI-powered trading analysis using GPT-4o-mini
Data shared: Anonymized trade data (market tickers, prices, P&L, timestamps)
Privacy: No personally identifiable information (email, name, account ID) is sent to OpenAI. Trade data is used only for generating your analysis and is not used for OpenAI model training.
Render.com
Purpose: Hosting infrastructure (web servers, database)
Data stored: All application data (encrypted database, server logs)
Plausible Analytics
Purpose: Privacy-focused website analytics
Data collected: Anonymous page views, no cookies, no personal data
Kalshi API
Purpose: Import your trading history
Data accessed: Trade fills, market data, portfolio balance (read-only)
5. Data Retention & Deletion
Active accounts: We retain your data for as long as your account is active and you continue using AfterTrade.
Account deletion: You can request account deletion at any time by contacting us at contact@aftertrade.ai. Upon deletion:
- Your account, credentials, and all personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days
- Trade history and analysis data associated with your account will be deleted
- Encrypted backups will be purged according to our backup retention schedule (90 days maximum)
Inactive accounts: Accounts inactive for more than 2 years may be automatically deleted after email notification.
6. Cookies & Local Storage
AfterTrade uses minimal browser storage:
- Authentication token (JWT) - Stored in browser localStorage to keep you logged in. Expires after 24 hours.
- No tracking cookies - We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
7. Your Privacy Rights
You have the right to:
- Access - Request a copy of your personal data
- Correction - Update or correct inaccurate information
- Deletion - Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Export - Download your trade data via CSV export
- Opt-out - Unsubscribe from any marketing communications (if applicable)

8. Children's Privacy
AfterTrade is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of AfterTrade after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
For significant changes, we will notify users via email.
